Fundamental rights and human rights are the foundation of our open, free and democratic society, and yet they are constantly put under pressure and have to be defended again and again every day. This reality is experienced first hand, time and again, particularly by people without Austrian citizenship who live here in Austria or who wish to immigrate to this country.
Since 2011, I have been committed to helping such people exercise their rights, whether asylum seekers fleeing political or other persecution, people wishing to immigrate for commercial reasons, or entrepreneurs looking for help navigating the maze of standards and Austrian bureaucracy.
Alongside my professional work, I study continuously, and constantly publish and give lectures on Austrian asylum and immigration law as well as on other legal rules that affect people without Austrian citizenship. I keep a critical eye on current developments so that I can provide clients with quick and effective support when they are threatened with rights violations or new, emerging problems.
Whether dealing with asylum procedures, obtaining a Red-White-Red card, being granted Austrian citizenship or facing problems with the Austrian Act Governing the Employment of Foreign Nationals – I can assist you thanks to my many years of experience, broad network and deep knowledge of Austrian law, and help you turn your opportunities in Austria into reality.
While still studying law, I started working as a legal advisor and representative for asylum seekers; from February 2013 to February 2018, I headed up the legal department at the "Asyl in Not" non-governmental organisation, which provides counselling and support for asylum seekers and persons entitled to asylum.
I have been giving regular lectures and workshops since 2015, mainly on asylum and immigration law. My handbook on asylum law ("Asylrecht kompakt") was published in 2016 and is now in its third edition.
After completing my doctorate in law on fundamental and human rights, and my bachelor's degree in history, I passed the bar exam with distinction in 2023.
As an independent solicitor, I support people who are looking for new prospects and a secure future in Austria. In my many years of professional experience, I have learnt to keep a clear head, especially in challenging situations. I place great importance on informing my clients comprehensively about their legal options and providing them with committed support, even when difficulties arise.
My services include individual consultation – in person and online – and initial legal assessments of complex issues. I represent my clients before the Austrian authorities and courts, and support them with appeals, including appeals to the final Austrian courts of appeal.
